County Awards Two Road Resurfacing Contracts Totaling $1.1 Million

Will County’s transportation committee confirmed the award of two road resurfacing contracts totaling just over $1.1 million.

Gallagher Asphalt Corporation received an $835,620.09 contract for resurfacing Elevator Road from U.S. Route 52 to U.S. Route 52 in county board District 2. The work includes pipe culvert replacement, pavement cleaning, hot in-place recycling, and new surface course application. Construction is expected to begin in July and be completed by late August.

“D” Construction, Inc. was awarded a $262,232.64 contract for resurfacing various roadways in the Troy Road District, including George Avenue, Murphy Drive, Rosary Lane, Cassie Drive and Barber Lane in county board District 7. This project is also scheduled to begin in July with completion by August 1.

Both projects will maintain traffic flow with periodic lane closures and flaggers directing traffic around work zones.

The contracts were part of the county’s routine maintenance program to preserve the existing road system.
